Olympics inspired wallpaper design

Friday, 13 July 2012 1:39 PM

The Olympic Games in London for 2012 has inspired a range of decorative wallpaper designs for the home.
The collection is a cross between modern graphic art and a 1960s colour palette with plenty of colours such as mustard, cream and brown used.
Each design in the collection features a particular sport in action, including javelin, cycling, diving and equestrian.

Each is a bold and striking design based on the Olympics athletes and events.
But it is also a great design in terms of artistic style because the use of coloured lines on black to create the images is quite a unique idea.
It is ideal for any room and would best suit a bedroom or games room where the design would act as the main focal point for the interior décor.
If you have an outdoor shed or patio with a wall protected from the elements the wallpaper would also be a funky way to refresh an outdoor space where most physical activity takes place.

This wallpaper mural was designed by Mel Smith just in time for the big games.
It is just one of a number of products on the market at the moment with a definite Olympics theme.
