Decking made from recycled materials hits the UK
An eco-friendly wood decking company has hit British soils.
Trex decking is now available in the UK and is ideal for summer patios and decks for home’s with a green conscience.
The decking is made from 95 percent recycled materials, is durable and beautiful.
It is manufactured of reclaimed wood and sawdust, as well as recycled plastic from many common household items – including sandwich bags, newspaper sleeves and grocery bags.
In fact, Trex saves approximately 300,000 tones of plastic and wood scrap from landfill sites every year, and no trees have ever been felled to manufacture Trex products.
The decking has been engineered with an exclusive low-sheen, high-traffic formulation which is touted as being able to resist stains, scratches and mold.
The decking is available in a natural-looking, wood-grain pattern in colours inspired by the great outdoors, such as gravel path, lava rock, vintage lantern and spiced rum.
It won’t rot, warp, crack or splinter and the product requires no sanding, staining or painting, and spills wash off easily with just soap and water.
This is because it has an integrated shell, which is two to three times thicker than that of other manufacturers’ products.
