Black doradus stone for kitchens and bathrooms

Wednesday, 30 May 2012 11:14 AM

Stone is a material increasingly being used in kitchen and bathroom design.
It is a material that is strong, durable and stylish with many options for which stone to use.
New on the market, joining the likes of marble and quartz, is doradus stone.
Doradus cleverly imitates the colour patterns of marble but offers the practical and durable attributes of quartz stone.

That is because it is made up of 95 per cent natural quartz and five per cent polymer resins.
Unlike marble, which is a softer stone that can stain and become marked, this engineered quartz is scratch resistant and less porous.
The black doradus stone comes from the company Stone Masters.
It is made with gold veining to pick up the light in the room and to add to the dark colouring.
Like most stone products it can be cut to fit the space for easy installation.

Stone is a good option for kitchen benches as it gives a luxury look to the room while still being very functional.
Stone can also be used in bathrooms as tiling or again bench tops.
For more information about the black stone see the Stone Masters website.
