Hanging fire cocoon for winter warmth

Wednesday, 15 August 2012 9:20 AM

While summer might not be over it is time to start thinking about heating for the winter.
If you want to install a fireplace, now it the time to do it to ensure you benefit from the warmth when the cold comes.
The trend for the coming winter is bio ethanol fires which require no flu and are therefore easy to install with minimum impact on the structure of your home.
There are plenty of modern designs on the market such as the hanging fire cocoon from Cocoon Fires.

Called the Aeris, the fire provides heat from an open flame which burns on bio ethanol.
Each 1.5 litre bio ethanol refill is said to last for up to six hours of burn time, producing approximately 3.6 kilowatts of heat.
It is also believed that bio ethanol heats drifts better throughout the room rather than being localised around the fire.
These fires use high grade liquid bio ethanol making them an eco friendly choice and reduce the amount of cleaning because of no soot, wood or coal around the fire place.
This particular design has a hanging rod and bracket with an adjustable height depending on the height of the ceiling.
This designer fire can also rotate 360 degrees so you can have it facing you as you move around the room.
Pictured is the carbon black fire, but the Aeris fire is also available in marine grade stainless steel for indoor/outdoor use.
