Monday, 28 February 2011 2:28 PM

A new online guide features advice and how-to videos from DIY and gardening guru Tommy Walsh. Tradessupermarket.com is a website for the construction trade and DIY enthusiasts, and there is plenty of advice for house fixers of all skill levels.

A section of the site is dedicated to 'Tommy's Trade Secrets', with a portfolio of video diaries by Tommy and his friends undertaking DIY tasks. The footage provides helpful hints and tips and advises upon the necessary material and tool requirements.

Tommy's Deals is another section on the site, this time dedicated to bestsellers and deals of the week and is categorised by handtools, powertools, workwear and materials.

A hard landscaper by trade, Mr Walsh shot to fame in the 1990s alongside Charlie Dimmock and Alan Titchmarsh in the popular BBC series, Ground Force.

"In Tradessupermarket.com we have a site which not only stores a large catalogue of products, but can be used as a resource for DIYers who need practical help at home be it a lesson on how to plaster a wall or hang a door," said Mr Walsh.

"Through Facebook we will also be asking for feedback on the site and what other 'Trade secrets' people would like to see – we want to make the site as user-friendly and interactive as possible."
