One in three Brits struggle to find a tradesman

Finding a trusted professional to work on a home improvement project is a major struggle for one in three Brits, with many unsure where to find a reputable tradesmen and 70 per cent worried that they will be ripped off, according to a new survey from Jobsorted.com

Trust is clearly a major issue, with 75 per cent of women saying that they get the jitters when a tradesman arrives, because they have a stranger in their house.

This is also the case for 33 per cent of men, while 32 per cent of Brits say they will follow any tradesman around their house to keep a constant eye on them.

Traditional British manners are still important, as 42 per cent of survey respondents said they would be put off if a tradesman failed to wipe their feet before entering the house.

Jobsorted.com aims to redress some of these concerns, as you can search for a tradesman who has been recommended by other homeowners, including even specialist workers, such as roof thatchers and steeplejackers.
