Natural tones spring trend

Forget bright and bold when redecorating your home as pale tones make a furnishings comeback.

It seems spring may bring out colours in the garden but many home furnishing companies are offering a range of paler tones for customers.

Bright and bold prints are popular choices for accessories and soft furnishings but the main pieces in a home are moving towards a plain palette.

The idea behind natural tones in main pieces is that they can be used in any space and the surroundings can be changed to the homeowner’s style.

In doing this the pieces have more longevity because they can survive a style revamp with the simple change of a pillow, throw rug or decorative piece.

This trend may be a result of tightening purse strings as people try to make a style change in their home without breaking the budget.

White, cream and ivory are the main colour picks as they are both practical and create the idea of space.Cream bed

Newtons Furniture has a cream-themed upholstered chair and bed.

Both are handmade mahogany pieces and can be easily dressed up with duvet covers, cushions and throw rugs.

Ayers and Graces also jumped on the plain theme trend releasing a range of white and silver ornamental mirrors.

While these pieces are quite dressy they still go with almost any colour scheme.

Even though style trends in the kitchen have long been about clean lines and textured bench-tops the plain theme is slipping into this room also.

Stone Masters has seen a peak in the popularity of its pure white stone Blanco Zeus benches in both polished and un-polished varieties.

If you want to invest in a key piece this spring try something plain that will last a few seasons.
