Nordic House introduces hurricane lamps

Friday, 18 February 2011 3:25 PM

Whatever the weather this summer, you can be sure of a warming glow in your garden with the new hurricane lamps from Nordic House. These graceful metal lamps feature a glass ‘hurricane’ to protect the flame from the elements.

This Scandinavian-inspired design draws on the traditions of the summer solstice, when Nordic people celebrate as the sun only briefly dips below the horizon, resulting in long summer days and dusky evenings.

The stark metal lines of this new lamp can add a contemporary feel to your summer garden parties, while the simple design is elegant enough for lighting a wedding reception.

The hurricane lamp is oil-burning and comes with a purpose-made lid to safely extinguish the flame. Customers can choose from the medium or large sizes, which are priced at £24.95 and £29.95 respectively.

Nordic House has also worked with several Danish designers to offer a wide range of outdoor lighting, wall sconces, lanterns and lamps to liven up your garden for the balmy summer evenings.
